Meet The Rabbis!
Rabbi Jean Eglinton: B'nai Sholom Temple, Huntington WV
Rabbi Jean Eglinton is our Jewish Student Association Rabbi and will be working with us directly! She is a Reform Rabbi at B'nai Sholom Congregation. As our group rabbi she will be helping with events, study and will, of course, be a resource for any questions you may have!
Jean E. Eglinton grew up in Connecticut. College included a year studying at the University of Montpelier, France. In 1981 she graduated from Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio with a BA in Art. In 2010 – after devoting the interim years to her family – she was ordained at Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati. After ordination she continued at the college for a year as Coordinator of Outreach Education and Interim Director of the Skirball Museum at the HUCinci campus. While studying at HUC-JIR, Student Rabbi Eglinton served congregations in Paducah, Kentucky; Louisville, Kentucky; and Newark, Ohio; as well as spending a summer as Student Chaplain at Cedar Village in Mason, Ohio. The student rabbi years also included a year living in Jerusalem, a week in Belarus conducting Passover Seders, and a week in Germany learning about contemporary Jews there.
Rabbi Jean has been married to Steven Snyder since 1982. They have two grown sons, Sam and David, and have made their home in New York City; Polo, Urbana and Springfield, Illinois; Louisville, Kentucky; and Cincinnati, Ohio.

Rabbi David Wucher: Huntington WV
For 22 years, Rabbi David Wucher has been the spiritual leader of B’nai Sholom Congregation in Huntington, W.Va. Retiring this year Rabbi Wucher still teaches at Marshall University!
With extra time on his hands, Wucher plans to explore his passion for the Civil War by getting involved with reenactments, portraying a Jewish chaplain who served with the Union army. He says his own real experience as a chaplain in Vietnam will help prepare him for the role.

Rabbi Victor Urecki: B'nai Jacob, Charleston WV
Rabbi Urecki creative, enthusiastic and a wonderful resource. He is from Charleston and you can ask him any questions you may have. As an Orthodox Rabbi he can offer a different perspective!
Victor Urecki has served as rabbi and spiritual leader of B’nai Jacob Synagogue since 1986. He is a member of the Rabbinical Council of America, as well as the Chicago Board of Rabbis. He is also on the Executive Rabbinical Cabinet of the United Jewish Communities, the largest Jewish philanthropic organization in the world. He serves on National Council of AIPAC ( The American Israel Public Affairs Committee) and on the board of directors at the University of Charleston.
He and his wife Marilyn have three daughters, Avrah, Chava and Zahava. His wife Marilyn teaches at B’nai Jacob.

Rabbi Zalman Gurevits: Chabad Jewish Center, Morgantown WV
Rabbi Gurevitz is an Orthodox Rabbi from Morgantown who is available to send questions to! He is a very funny, friendly and knowledgable source of information on Judaism!
Rabbi Gurevitz spends most of his time providing Jewish outlets and education to university students in Morgantown WV.
